** 2005 Honda NSR125 (JC22)**
Registration no. MX55 LFH
Frame no. ZDCJC22E01F247226
Engine no. unable to locate
Like its successful NS125 predecessor, the NSR125 sports roadster was assembled in Italy by Honda Italia Industriale SpA, the Japanese manufacturer's Italian subsidiary. Launched in 1988, the JC20 version featured twin round headlights, while the successor JC22 boasted the 'Foxeye' lamps that give the model its nickname. Looking every inch a pukka Grand Prix bike, the NSR125 was powered by a liquid-cooled single-cylinder two-stroke engine, which was carried in a ****-looking 'Alcast' cast aluminium beam frame ('Revolutionary Aluminum Frame Structure' according to Honda). The gearbox was a six-speeder. Marzocchi supplied the front forks and rear suspension, and there were single disc brakes at both ends: dual-piston front and single-piston rear. Wheels were 17" at the front, 18" at the rear. Production of the JC22 ended in 2001, though dealers were still clearing leftover stock until as late as 2005.
According to the accompanying V5C Registration Certificate, this NSR125 was subject to SVA/ VA (Single Vehicle Approval) certification on 28th June 2004 prior to being registered as a new vehicle on 16th September 2005. The Single Vehicle Approval scheme enables individual motorcycles that do not have provisional GB Type Approval to be registered in the UK. For further information see the Vehicle approval: Motorcycle single vehicle approval - GOV. UK web site.
It should also be noted that this motorcycle was declared a Category D Insurance Loss (damaged but repairable) which the insurer decided not to repair (June 2010). The machine was formerly finished in red. The NSR has belonged to the private vendor since 2014, since when it has formed part of his collection, seeing occasional use (it was used recently). Apart from the fact that the Honda has had four former keepers, little previous history is known. Accompanying paperwork includes the 2014 purchase receipt; the aforementioned V5C document; MoT to July 2026; some expired MoT certificates; and a quantity of invoices for parts and services, some relating to the purchase and fitting of the Arrow exhaust.
