EXTERIOR
Finished in Brilliant Red and boasting the desirable M Tech II bodykit enhanced with period-correct Alpina wheels, this bonafide 325i Sport looks fantastic beneath our studio lights. The paintwork remains in excellent condition throughout with few blemishes to speak of, and the Shadowline trim is first-rate. At the front of the car the headlights and grilles are undamaged, and the rear light clusters are also perfect with no cracks or signs of moisture ingress. Shod in matching Yokohama tyres (dated 2023), the 16-inch alloys are immaculate and free from any kerb rash. In keeping with the Alpina aesthetic, genuine C2 2. 7 badges are fitted on the boot lid and grille.
INTERIOR
Very tastefully specified with heated sports seats and a three-spoke Alpina/ Momo steering wheel, the interior is a great place to be. The anthracite velour has worn extremely well with no marking or damage to the deep bolsters or door card panels. The complementing grey carpets are also very tidy and, quite remarkably, are still protected in the footwells by original E30 mats. There are no cracks on the dash, the switchgear is excellent, and a period Blaupunkt cassette radio is pleasingly still fitted. The cabin further benefits from an Alpina rev counter, Alpina plaque, and a retro NEC telephone handset between the front seats. The boot area is very clean with the original BBS spare wheel, toolkit, and warning triangle all present.
ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION
Although not dressed to a concours standard, the engine bay is tidy and clearly the car has been maintained to a good standard over the years; it always fires up first turn of the key and idles up to temperature without fuss. In line with the low mileage of 71k, the 2. 5-litre M20 straight-six offers silky-smooth performance with a great soundtrack to boot. Power is transferred to the rear wheels via a switchable 4-speed automatic gearbox and limited-slip differential. For the new keeper’s peace of mind, a fresh service and MOT test will be carried out upon sale.
HISTORY FILE
This stunning 325i Sport was supplied new by Sytner of Nottingham (official Alpina concessionaires) in October 1990. Remaining under the same careful ownership for the first 30 years, the E30 has seen only 4 additional registered keepers and is now offered for sale with just 71, 739 miles under its belt. The car sports a number of period Alpina upgrades giving it a very distinctive appearance over and above the already sought-after ‘M Tech II’ body styling; these include 16-inch C83 alloy wheels, a three-spoke Momo leather steering wheel, rev counter, and badges – all understood to have been fitted by the supplying dealer as part of the ‘Alpina 3’ styling pack.
Within the accompanying paperwork the lucky new owner will receive the original BMW grey document folder with all owners’ manuals, a selection of invoices and MOT certificates, the current V5C showing 4 former keepers, a clear recent HPI report, and the original maintenance booklet with services and timing belt changes stamped at the following mileages: 1, 201 – 10, 722 – 18, 340 – 25, 463 – 33, 192 – 40, 432 – 48, 000 – 50, 709 – 52, 317 – 57, 098 – 58, 459 – 59, 822 – 63, 906 – and lastly at 71, 367 miles in November 2021.
