Description

This lot will be auctioned via Iconic Auctioneers, The Iconic Sale at Supercar Fest 2026 on Saturday the 16th of May, Sywell Aerodrome, Sywell, Northampton, NN6 0BN. This striking 1975 De Tomaso Pantera GTS, a UK-supplied, right-hand drive example of this iconic Italian-American collaboration is offered from a private Collection. Showing just 23, 232 miles at the time of cataloguing and with only one former keeper recorded, it represents a scarce and highly desirable opportunity.
The GTS marked a more focused evolution of the Pantera, and this example benefits from the purity of the early narrow-body design, as penned by Tom Tjaarda. Finished in its original factory colour scheme of blue with a contrasting black bonnet and rear deck lid, the car presents as a faithful reflection of its period specification, supported by an accompanying letter dated 18th October 1975 from M. T. C. Cars Ltd, the UK supplying dealer.
Supplied new by M. T. C. Cars, the car was specified with GTS components prior to delivery, in keeping with period practice. Documentation within the history file, including the original vehicle order form and period correspondence, confirms its GTS specification at the point of supply. Cars prepared in this manner were supplied to a limited number of clients, including one example delivered to the Sultan of Brunei.
A comprehensive restoration, completed over four years, has returned the car to factory correct specification with a clear emphasis on originality. The bodyshell was stripped, dipped and etch primed before being rebuilt, with detailed attention given to both mechanical and cosmetic elements. The car retains its matching numbers 351 Cleveland V8 engine, paired with the ZF 5DS-25/ 2 5-speed manual gearbox, delivering the performance and character synonymous with the model.
The interior presents in excellent order, consistent with the low indicated mileage and the standard of restoration, with period-correct details retained throughout. The driver’s door and bonnet rubbers will be replaced prior to the sale.
The history file is extensive and includes the original sales invoice, new vehicle order form, first service invoice, previous MOT Certificates and period brochures. Also accompanying the car are the original inlet manifold, Ford carburettor, airbox, spare wheel, jack and toolkit, further supporting its provenance.
The Pantera sits on its original 15" Campagnolo 8" and 10" wide magnesium wheels, which have been professionally inspected and refurbished, and it retains its original number plates.
Since completion of the restoration, the car has been stored in a humidity controlled environment and has covered only a few hundred miles. Right-hand drive Pantera GTS models are rarely offered, particularly examples combining low indicated mileage, limited ownership and such a strong history file. With growing interest in the model, this example would make a compelling addition to any considered collection. We encourage inspection to fully appreciate its quality and significance.
