Body / Exterior:
The model shown here is a CITROEN 2CV AZ from July 1958 in its period colour “Light Grey AC 132”.
The bodyshell was restored a few years ago and the shell received a complete re-spray at that time.
It is today in excellent presentation condition, with a uniform shade and excellent gloss.
After a professional polish carried out with an orbital machine by our workshop, we noted a small paint chip corrected at the top of the passenger-side bonnet.
The engine bonnet shows a small deformation on the driver’s side.
We noted the absence of the double-chevron motif.
All door seals are in excellent condition.
The front and rear bumpers are perfectly aligned and in good condition.
We touched up a small scratch on the front right bumper (1 cm).
The long fabric roof in colour “Grey” is presentable despite some small discolourations.
The two front MARCHAL headlights are in excellent condition.
The four ivory-coloured steel wheels are in perfect condition.
The two front MICHELIN tyres show less than 50% wear.
The rear tyres will be replaced with new ones on delivery.
This example is not equipped with a spare wheel.
Among the “Body / Exterior” equipment and options of interest on this model, we note: MARCHAL 630 headlights and front wing splash guards.
Interior:
The interior has been recently restored.
The bayadère-blue fabric upholstery is in excellent condition, both at the front and rear.
The door panels in grey faux leather are in good condition.
We note a colour difference between the front and rear.
The rear right inner door panel has a small snag.
The dashboard shows no scratches or paint defects.
The original JAEGER speedometer is fully functional despite slight opacity.
The sun visors show wear.
The original 2-spoke steering wheel in light grey is in excellent condition.
The original bakelite gear lever knob shows wear.
PVC floor mats are in good condition.
Among the interesting interior equipment/ options this example has, we note: the blue bayadère fabric upholstery and the JAEGER ammeter.
Chassis:
The fundamentals: box-section chassis, sills, floors, wheel arches and longitudinals are in good condition.
Usage reserve: as a rule we cannot guarantee perfect alignment beyond their good visual and functional condition validated during road test and inspection.
During the dynamic test we noted no abnormal rattles in the body or running gear (ball joints, bushings, etc.) except for a slight play in the bearings which will be checked by our workshop before delivery.
Braking is aligned and its effectiveness remains in line with era standards.
Front and rear brake drums are fully functional and free from seepage traces.
The technical inspection carried out by our workshop before delivery will confirm the overall good function.
Engine / Transmission:
The twin engine runs perfectly.
Compression readings taken in our workshops and the road test confirm a healthy block.
Starting is easy, with no smoke or unusual noises and idling is stable, as confirmed by the 360° video with the engine running available at the start of the slideshow.
Under way, the engine revs without snags or unusual noises.
The three gears of the manual box shift up and down smoothly with no snags or unusual noises.
Clutch bite is good.
This example has its original starting handle.
As is common with older mechanics, the engine/ gearbox seals can be improved.
