Description
Rare 1977 Morris Marina 1. 8 SDL Estate Superb 2 Owner Car 53300 mls
A rare, low mileage car, with only a handful remaining on the road in the UK or Ireland.
First registered on 1/ 12/ 1977 in Edinburgh, where it spent the first 34 years of its life.
It remained with its second owner until recently, when health issues led to a reluctant sale.
During his ownership, the car was maintained meticulously, including a full cavity wax treatment carried out at considerable expense. There is also documented records of other work he completed over the years.
The car presents extremely well and drives superbly. It feels more than capable of modern use, and I would have no hesitation in taking it on long journeys. With the larger 1. 8 B Series engine, similar to that used in the MGB, it also has ample power to cope with motorway driving if required.
Currently in Northern Ireland, she comes with a standard UK V5, so can be driven anywhere in the UK with no need for reregistration or import duties.
The Morris Marina was introduced in 1971 by British Leyland as a simple, practical family car, designed to compete with the likes of the Ford Cortina. Using proven, straightforward engineering, it proved popular throughout the 1970s and became a familiar sight on UK and Irish roads.
Production ran until 1980, after which it evolved into the Morris Ital.
Today, surviving examples are increasingly rare and appreciated as usable classics from a well remembered era.
Please keep in mind she is approaching her 50th birthday and should not be compared to your modern 2, 3 or even 10 year old daily driver. That said, she is in very good order and I am not aware of anything requiring attention beyond normal routine servicing and maintainence.
HPI CHECKED. No known outstanding finance, mileage discrepancies, or insurance records of damage or theft.
DELIVERY. We can arrange delivery anywhere in the UK or Ireland at very reasonable rates.
