Classic Car Design offers you this 1960 Morgan Plus 4. This is the version equipped with the Triumph TR3 engine. It is an important evolution that gives it a more sporting character with its 100 bhp and a measured weight. The rest is identical to the original Morgans: ladder-frame steel chassis, aluminium body on a ash framework, front pivoted axle and rigid rear axle.
Externally, the bodywork is in good overall condition, the result of a complete restoration carried out a few years ago. You can note some signs of use that do not alter the overall presentation. The chrome, bumpers, grille and wheels are in very good condition. The hood and the side-windows are in near-new condition.
The interior of this Morgan Plus 4 is clad in grey leather that harmonises perfectly with the exterior colour. The occupants sit on a well-padded bench and face a genuine wooden dashboard.
The instrumentation and ivory-coloured controls remind us that this is an antique Morgan.
The carpet and the various trims are in perfect condition with no damp traces.
Mechanically, the two‑litre starts and runs perfectly with a very throaty rumble. The gears shift very well and the whole running gear does its job.
Buying this 1960 example is to acquire a Morgan with a touch of nostalgia for the 'old-timers'. It is a good option for those discovering the world of classic cars with its proven and familiar mechanicals.
