Description
The Camaro was introduced in 1966 as GM’s pony car competitor against Ford’s Mustang. Its F body platform of unibody structure, front subframe, A-arm front suspension, leaf spring rear suspension and solid rear axle was carried over to a heavily restyled second generation introduced in 1970. After a series of cosmetic changes the Camaro received its most aggressive stance in 1980 that remains iconic to this day. Notably all Camaros produced that year featured a series of hidden mechanical upgrades to as test beds for the third generation released in 1982.
The Camaro featured was produced in 1980 as Sport Coupe in Dark Red over Tan to feature a L39 4. 4lt V8 and a 3 speed Turbo Hydramatic automatic transmission. In 1990 it was acquired as part of a private collection to be treated with a respray in its original color and a full interior trim in beige leather presenting today in excellent cosmetic and mechanical order.
