The 2nd generation Alpine A110 was launched at the 87th Geneva Motor Show in March 2017. Built from an all-aluminium construction and powered by a Nissan developed 1. 8 litre turbocharged engine producing 250bhp mated to a Getrag 7-speed dual-clutch transmission. Lightweight construction and the engine / transmission set up gave the A110 impressive performance with 0 to 62 mph achievable in just 4. 5 seconds and a top speed (electronically limited) of 155 mph. The A110 was initially available in three trim levels, Pure, Premiere and Legende with the Premiere being the official launch model and limited to just 1955 units worldwide (honouring the year Alpine was founded) with just 137 examples being assigned to the UK market. Each of the Premiere Edition cars came with a limited edition build plaque mounted in the centre console showing its build number along with some nice additions over the standard model including 18 Forged Alloy Wheels, Quilted Leather Sabelt bucket seats and a Sports Exhaust system. DESCRIPTION: This A110 Premiere Edition has been with the one owner from new and has been used sparingly covering just 21, 000 miles. The car presents beautifully in its pearlescent Solar White with no major marks or blemishes along with the 18 forged alloy wheels finished in satin black with a diamond cut face, shod with Michelin tyres. The compact 2 seat design still offers good practicality being mid-engined which allows for storage and luggage areas in both the rear and front of the car. The interior is finished in Black Leather with contrasting Blue Stitching and again presents in superb condition with no major signs of wear. The lightweight Sabelt Sports Bucket seats trimmed in quilted leather with side bolsters and Alpine Branded Alcantara centres are the centrepiece of the interior and offer superb comfort and support for both driver and passenger. The limited edition build plaque is located on the highly detailed centre console and shows this example is number 1677 of the 1955 cars built. Driver's goodies include the 7-speed dual-clutch transmission, Sabelt bucket seats, switchable driver modes, sports exhaust, heated seats and Focal Audio sound system. On the road, these A110's are a real enthusiast driver's dream. The aluminium construction gives the car a kerb weight of just 1, 100kg with a near-perfect weight distribution of 44% front and 56% rear whilst a bespoke double-wishbone suspension setup front and rear give the car a supple and compliant ride with impresive levels of grip even on the UK's less than perfect roads. Performance wise, acceleration, braking and handling are impressive given the cars relatively modest engine statistics and these cars prove devastatingly capable and enjoyable on your favourite twisty back roads whilst also offering smooth and comfortable long range motorway cruising. The dual-clutch transmission is fast and responsive and has a manual selection mode via steering wheel paddle shifters should the driver want a little more control and involvement. The 320mm Brembo brakes with four piston calipers at the front slow the light-weight A110 with ease and precision giving the driven the confidence to push the car when conditions allow, whilst the steering is power assisted whilst retaining feedback and sharpness. The Alpine A110 offers a real drivers alternative to the likes of the usual Porsche Cayman whilst remaining rather more useable than a comparable lotus etc. Service and running costs are very reasonable compared to the competition which makes these cars a very attractive proposition for the enthusiast owner / driver, whilst the rarity factor should see residual values remain strong and stable in the longer term.
