The Land Rover Defender 110 is one of the most iconic models in the Land Rover range. Introduced in 1983 under the One Ten name, in reference to its 110-inch wheelbase, it was designed to offer more space and versatility than the 90. Rugged and practical, it quickly established itself as a reference vehicle for professionals, administrations, the armed forces and adventurers around the world.
Based on a particularly strong ladder frame and equipped with permanent four‑wheel drive, the Defender 110 stands out for its remarkable off‑road capabilities. Available in many configurations — utility, station wagon, pickup or canvas‑top version — it can accommodate up to nine passengers depending on the layout. Its simple and durable design, combined with reliable mechanics, has allowed it to adapt to the most demanding conditions, from African tracks to polar regions.
Over its career, the Defender has received various petrol and diesel engines, while preserving its authentic character and timeless style. Produced until 2016 in its original form, it is today a true icon of off‑road motoring. Valued for its versatility, ruggedness and historical heritage, it remains one of the most sought‑after models by Land Rover enthusiasts and collectors worldwide.
Our example is a former German Army vehicle, originally fitted with the 3. 5 L V8 engine. With only 79, 000 km on the clock, it has undergone a superb restoration completed this year. It has been fully dismantled to receive a new galvanised chassis. Mechanically, its engine has been overhauled and optimised with an Edelbrock intake. The V8’s soundtrack has been enhanced by a stainless steel exhaust system. Note that the five‑speed manual gearbox is new.
Cosmetically, the bodywork has been finished in a magnificent Marine Blue. Its modernised lights, metal‑grey grille and its black wheels and canvas give it a superb look. Inside, the houndstooth upholstery is new. It pairs beautifully with the body colour. There is also a three‑spoke chrome steering wheel and a Marshall Bluetooth speaker. Every detail has been carefully considered. It should be noted that it carries a 3‑seat collection registration document.
