Description
An impressive Retro-Style Mini Cooper MPI
This original German-delivered Mini Cooper, first registered in January 1997, has been comprehensively restored by renowned Mini specialists Firma Oldtimer-Hof and Andreas Westmark. The restoration, completed between 2021 and 2022, has been executed with a distinct retro styling approach.
The car is finished in a classic Surf Blue—an original Mini colour—paired with a contrasting cream roof. It sits on Minilite-style 12-inch alloy wheels fitted with new 145/ 70 R12 Nankang tyres. The retro theme continues at the front with an early period-style grille, bullet-style door mirrors, and wheel arch and side sill trim edging.
The interior features black sports leather seats with head restraints and matching carpets, complemented by a light blue upper dashboard, along with a matching handbrake cover and gear knob. A standout feature is the rare accessory twin glovebox, centre dials wooden dashboard, paired with matching door handles. The SRS warning light is partially obscuring a minor crack in the wood trim, and is the only blemish in this otherwise otherwise characterful interior.
The indicated mileage is approximately 120, 000 km. However, the condition of the impressive engine bay confirms a mechanical overhaul with all parts replaced where necessary. The underside of the car has been completely wax-oil treated. As ever, the famous 1275cc engine block, offering 63ps, performs its duties well with the vehicle supplied with a current German TÜV roadworthiness certificate.
Overall, this is an exceptionally well-presented Mini Cooper with strong visual impact, excellent driving characteristics, and extensive attention to detail throughout its retro-inspired restoration.
