Description
UK Supplied | Two Owners | Unrestored | 17 Service Stamps
What is it?
A UK-supplied 1981 Honda C90 ZZ finished in blue.
Arguably the sweet spot of the pre-1984 C90 range, the ZZ retains the distinctive round headlamp and classic appearance of the earlier bikes, while gaining a revised carburettor with a handlebar-mounted choke and a conical-ended silencer.
How does it drive?
The C90 earned its reputation by being dependable, economical and exceptionally easy to live with. The four-stroke engine is simple and durable, the semi-automatic gearbox requires no clutch lever, the enclosed chain keeps maintenance and mess to a minimum, and the leg shields provide useful weather protection.
This one starts readily, runs cleanly, changes gear smoothly and rides beautifully.
Why this one?
Because unrestored, well-maintained C90s are now very hard to find.
This UK-delivered example has had just two owners from new and remains in remarkably original condition.
The paperwork is every bit as impressive as the bike, with its original service booklet carrying 17 stamps, historic service invoices, the original owner’s manual and a continuous MOT record from its first test. The hard-copy certificates run through to 2000, followed by the online history thereafter.
Pub fact
More than 100 million Honda Super Cubs have been built since production began in 1958, making it the most-produced motor vehicle in history.
