BSA exhibited six different body styles at the Olympia motor show that year, embracing the work of Mulliners of Birmingham, Holbrook of Wolverhampton and Salmons of London, while the standard factory saloon coachwork was supplied by Pressed Steel Co Ltd, of Oxford. Built by BSA’s Daimler subsidiary at Coventry, the 10hp was powered by a 1, 185cc four-cylinder engine driving via Daimler’s characteristic fluid flywheel and four-speed pre-selector transmission. It is understood the car was intended to help get the masses moving again after the great depression of 1929, as such it had fewer creature comforts and a lower price than its Daimler and Lanchester siblings. In family ownership for c. 50 years, DM 8206 was acquired by the vendor’s uncle in the mid 1970’s and the family recalls Sunday drives in the countryside and even mentioned a home video of the car in period. Subsequently it was sadly left in the garage for some years due to ill health. From 2018, the family decided to get the car running again and spent over £11, 000 on mechanical expenditure until about 2023 with Trevor Farrington LTD of Knutsford. This included but is not limited to timing chain, head gasket, 4 pistons, cylinder liners, engine mounts and an engine out gearbox service. With a wonderful history and much mechanical expenditure, the little BSA is a perfect candidate for an oily rag car to keep preserved. Offered with spare parts, invoices, buff logbook and V5C. ** Bidding will take place live at the venue, online via our H&H website, by telephone and commission - T&Cs apply** Entry by catalogue and can be purchased for £20 (admits 2 people)
