Description
This clean, straight & solid Stingray coupe has been in the current owner’s family for over fifty years! During its prior life it was color changed and the block was swapped, but it’s always been a 4-speed and managed to avoid accident damage & frame rust.
Originally silver, the car has been blue longer than most of the prospective buyers will have been alive. The car was originally a 350hp 327 and is reported to retain the original heads, Holley carb & hydraulic lifters (it has the correct L79 6500 rpm tach & 80 psi oil pressure gauge). The car runs great, shifts well and drives like a C2 should. No, it’s not a potential show contender and it could still use some hand work detailing under the hood. The fiberglass is smooth with no hairline cracks or spiderwebbing.
Years ago when the black vinyl was too hot during the summer, quality textured nylon cloth was professionally installed on the seating surfaces. The dash, instruments & clock are in nice shape (it was a radio-delete car) and the carpets, door cards and headliner are nice, too. Our shop has just installed a new windshield, OEM-style radiator, new battery and correct red-line radial tires. We buffed out the paint and polished the chrome, so it’s a really nice if-not-correct C2 that will be a great driver car for someone who can spiff it up a bit further in his garage.
If you are considering one of the classic or collectible cars on our website, be assured that coming for a personal visit to inspect first-hand the car that has captured your fancy is very welcome. We practice transparency in all of our descriptions, but believe that nothing is as convincing as seeing and touching the car yourself. Plan a few hours, so you can see, touch, feel and drive the car, and enjoy a tour of our restoration shops to see ‘where the magic happens.’ If your schedule is too committed, we also welcome a knowledgeable agent visiting for you. Please understand that sales are final, so the time for all due diligence is before you buy. Our cars are sold AS-IS, since most are on consignment from owners. We follow FTC guidelines for all sales and certainly want our future clients leaving more glowing reports among our reviews!
