Description

Offered on sale or return on behalf of its owner is this lovely looking and sounding 1965 350cc BSA B40 “SS90”. The SS90 was the much rarer tuned version of the base B40 having larger engine valves and larger carb. The engine itself runs a higher compression and has heavier duty crank bearings while its 4 speed gear box is equipped with closer ratios. All this gives it a more “sprightly” performance. While the bike has obviously been completely restored at some point, unfortunately, apart from what your eyes tell you, there is no proof. The electrics have been converted to run 12 volts and this coupled with the electronic ignition, that it also has, probably goes a long way to explain why the bike starts so easily. On the road it is more than capable of keeping up with modern traffic, its clutch is light, gearbox changes smoothly its just a lovely old bike to own and be proud of. Lets put it this way, you would not be embarrassed turning up at a classic bike show on it. G
