"FOR SALE" 1937 Leyland FK6 Cub open Pump Escape Fire Engine new to Skegness Urban District Council Fire Brigade. Served at Skegness until the mid 1940s when it was moved to Gainsborough. Retired in 1964 and passed through several hands being restored in the early 1990s. Owned by the current owner since 1994.
It is powered by a 4. 7 litre OHV 6 cylinder petrol engine with dual ignition cylinder head, and is coupled to a 4 speed crash gearbox. Has pto to rear mounted Dennis main fire pump. It is equipped with brass fire kit and has canvas hose, all of the 1930s period. It also carries a steel Merryweather 50' wheeled fire escape, it was one of the very first fire engines to have a steel escape.
The vehicle is in excellent condition.
