Description
Most sought after and rare of the big cat, the mid-production model retains styling niceties of the original 3. 8 litre Mk 10 like the curly hub caps, one-piece radiator grille, and full wooden dashboard which were lost on the renamed 420G, whilst it also benefits from important mechanical upgrades over the original Mk 10 such as improvements to the automatic gearbox and brakes. This money no object specification Mk 10 is rarer still having power glide windows and super-scarce Delanair air conditioning and the car has been known to Robert Hughes since moving to Weybridge in 1976 when belonged to a neighbour who had owned it since new. In 1999, we purchased it directly from the owner after maintaining it for the family for some years and then supplied it to two subsequent owners. The genuine mileage is 32, 000 since new. Finished in a perfect colour combination of Dark Blue with Blue Grey hide, the car is in fantastic condition and must surely be the ultimate example of it’s type. It has been featured extensively in two Classic and Sportscar glossy editorials- in 2000, and again as the 50thfeature car for the 50th anniversary of the Mk 10 in 2011.
