Hi thanks for checking out this fantastic Beetle Limousine " MILO"
With great sadness the time has come to sell off a selection of wedding cars from our Volkswagen fleet. The cars for sale have been successfully used as wedding cars providing a great service to many happy couples since the company Beetledriveuk. com began in 2004. I am now unwell and unable to continue running the business and maintaining the cars to the appropriate high level so they need new loving homes and caring parents.
If you are genuinely interested in buying any of the lovely cars that we have for sale fantastic please read on, if you just are dreaming about what it would be like to cruise about having great fun in these fantastic iconic eye catching classic cars go buy a Herbie Video and a couple of cans of Tenants Extra to get into the dream zone because these babies need dedicated owners who know how to look after them, not race them around Asdas car park at dusk.
The first car to be listed for sale is Milo 1963 Limo .
I May consider PX for a pre 67 VW of similar value (or motorhome) with cash my way.
Milo (see what I did there Milo = Limo) started his life being manufactured at the VW factory in Belgium as a CKD car (completely knocked down) shipped abroad before assembly by the local workforce in Indonesia. He was a standard saloon car at this point. He lived his life in Indonesia and had a few but not many owners, he was eventually stretched and had some 'unique' modifications. He arrived in 'sunny' Great Britain at the beginning of 2009 but required extensive work to be carried out before being able to go onto UK roads which unfortunately we didn't expect on his arrival. But months of hard graft and lots of money produced this amazing car recognised by judges at the British Volkswagen Festival 09 and credited with his 'Best custom car in show' award.
Please do look at the photos here and on photobucket it will save me having to think of describing words which with my health condition is difficult at the best of times and it has been said a picture paints a thousand words. To help with this I have uploaded a whole load of images to photobucket for your perusal (The link is further down, keep reading) . Here the photos that are displayed are the good the bad and the ugly to help you decide if this is the car for you or you're popping to the offy to get a can of larger.
Milo is a superb looking car but he is a car from 1963 so he is almost 50 years old this means he is by no means new and he has qwerks and snags and little fiddly things that his new owner will probably want to sort out at some point. There are some small areas where paint needs some attention, the worst being where the heat of the exhaust has cracked the paint on the rear valence. There are few other little areas all detailed on the photos on Photobucket where the filler used has cracked, what you say filler? yes of course there is filler 1 it's a Beetle and 2 it's modified! However there is no rot or rust because of his life in sunnier climes.
He has electric windows all round but they're a bit crap to be honest, they do go down but sometimes don’t like to come up without a helping hand from a parent. The glass is old and would benefit from a nice shiny new piece putting in on some of the windows if you were really picky, the back passenger doors are one piece glass which I don’t think ever works properly when I've seen it on other Beetles, I will show the lucky winner my other limos windows which work far better if you want to change Milos at some point. Some of the buttons on the driver seat have come off when big boned drivers have got in (that’s why there is one of those bobbly wood bead covers on it), if you're a tall person you might want to think carefully about buying a Beetle unless you can fold yourself up well. Milo has drum brakes all around, what that means is they're pretty naff, for those who don’t know much about old Beetles and Campers they had really poor brakes and you have to really stamp on them to stop, Milo is no different. If you wanted to do a reasonably cheap'ish' but worthwhile mod I would recommend putting in a servo to assist with the braking. He doesn’t go fast anyway but you don’t want to arrive at the scene of the accident to quickly if you can't handle him.
There are bits to be done, nothing serious but I have priced the vehicle with that in mind. I am not interested in silly offers for any of the cars so please don’t offend me by knocking off silly money because that'll just be embarrassing and awkward then I'll just say no anyway. I don’t mind reasonable close to the asking price offers but I have spent in excess of £25K on this car so I think its an absolute bargain as it is and if he doesn’t sell I have the perfect excuse to keep him. (Milo was my own wedding car) If you spent £500 on his bits then it would make a good improvement.
You may notice that Milo also has the styling of a lovely 1950's Oval Bug, this is a nicely done modification, Milo also has the expensive snowflake rear lights and popes nose engine lid.
His sound system is bloomin’ amazing it's so loud it would probably blow out the glass if turned up full blast. When we put the tunes on at shows the crowds always gather round with great interest, Milo is a great crowd pleaser and would make the perfect promo car for a company.
Milo also has a pop up TV and the in-dash stereo plays DVD's I believe some how a games console can be rigged up but I have actually never really used any of the TV functions because brides rarely request to watch Bargain Hunt on route to the Church. There are some lovely touches in the cars interior such as embossed VW logos and glass VIP light up floors. There are 12V spot lights in the roof a champagne bucket and cupboards. There is also a sweet little illuminated cabinet housing an Oval Beetle model.
There are buttons to operate the solenoids on the rear doors so they look like you have magically opened them to let out the passengers! cool hey, near to them are switches to operate the ceiling lights and the raise and fall TV which works on an electric window mechanism. This car does not have any seatbelts but due to the age they are not required by law.
The headlamps work fine but are repro, it would be of benefit to replace them some day with a decent quality pair, they would fit better and improve the look a little I think. The indicators are incorporated in the headlamp US style.
Wheels and tires are spot on, tires are hardly worn. Clean and tidy under the wings and floor pans and wax oiled.
Milo has had a steering modification, I believe it is off a Toyota but it works very well and makes his steering pretty easy, that’s always a bonus in a Beetle.
If you are seriously interested in this Limo come and look at it, drive it (proof of insurance required), prod it, ensure that you know what you're buying but dont kick his tires be warned he will squirt you with oil if you do that and my dog will bite you.
Milo is tax exempt and MOT is due 15th June 12, I will MOT for the new owner on receipt of a deposit. Mileage? well who knows he could have had 3 new Speedo’s in his life time for all we know but we have rebuilt his engine so it makes little difference on a car like this. Milo hasn’t done many miles since we've had him as we kept him to fairly local weddings only and he wasn’t used in the winter.
The car has a maintenance history of all the things we have done since purchase, that will be with his documents. I have his Indonesian paperwork too which is very interesting and part of his history.
I can provide photo promotional images if you are thinking of using Milo for weddings.
