This E9 was supplied to its first owner in South Africa via BMW Dover where it was converted to RHD before delivery.
It was shipped back to the UK in the mid 90's and has been completely restored in its original colour. The body has not needed any welding as there was no rust and minimal damage to the shell. The panels are all original as is the chrome work.
Restoration included:
Bare metal strip, etch priming and panel shaping. Top UK body shop.( Forest green metallic ).
Engine rebuild with 60 thou rebore, new cam and Mahle pistons.
New 5 speed BMW eco gearbox. (original also with the car).
Bilstien sports springs and dampers.
Full braking system rebuild.
All new glass seals.
Air con upgraded to latest gas with new compressor and condenser, the a/ c is a period retro fit from RSA.
Tan leather interior is original with new over-mats, in excellent condition but some patina.
Fitted with genuine Aplina 16" period 9mm offset wheels.(original wheels also with the car).
The list of parts alone comes to around £16, 000.
The restoration was completed 12 months ago, the car MoT'd and has done about 500 miles since.
The car is currently sorn and stored in a bubble in my workshop, but will come with a fresh MoT and fully checked and tested.
