Very handsome 1949 Buick Roadmaster sedan, model 70.
Imported from the West Coast of the USA, here in the UK now, all duties paid, and will be DVLA registered and taxed with an age related number plate.
This is the top of the buick line for '49 with the larger 320 cu. inch straight eight engine and 126 inch wheelbase.
A proper Rock n Roll car if ever there was one!

This is a very solid and honest car, an older restoration in good condition, with a beautifully re trimmed interior, and a fully rebuilt engine and transmission.
The previous owner spent a small fortune fully rebuilding the engine and transmission in this car, and it clearly shows. Press the accelerator starter and it starts instantly at all times, and ticks over so quietly you can barely hear it. Drop the two speed Dynaflow transmission into drive and the car pulls away smoothly, with great torque and an almost indiscernible up shift into top gear. The engine bay is beautifully presented and there is no horrible old knotted wiring or patched hoses, it is all really sorted and well done.
The ride is good for the age of the car, although the crossply tyres do follow the contours of the road so piloting the car is very different from driving a modern car on radials.
The interior is in splendid condition, with very tastefully re trimmed seats in two tone plush cloth, replaced headlining and carpets. It is a great interior to travel in, and makes driver and passengers feel comfortable with its acres of space.
The dash and trims are all in very nice condition.
All parts invoices for the Engine and Trans rebuild are with the car, along with a huge pile of other bills for suspension and drivetrain parts, interior re trimming work, etc.
The car is really solid, and the body is in good shape for a sixty five year old car, but is not immaculate.
The paint and body is what I would call nice driver condition.
The lovely creamy mid green paint is an older repaint, maybe 20+ years old, and holds up well but does show it's age in certain areas, some examples including chips, small scratches and a couple of areas where the paint has been blended. It's attractive overall, though.
The trunk area is solid and tidy but could be improved with some re trimming work as it does not have carpets or mats, and the original side cards are scruffy. This is an easy job, I did it on my '57 Cadillac and it transformed the appearance of the trunk for under a hundred pounds.
Most of the electrics on the car work great, the lights, horn, indicators, most gauges etc but one or two minor items need investigation such as the fuel gauge and interior light.
Bumpers have been beautifully re chromed, and the other bright work is complete, solid and original, with various minor dings, and some pot metal has the usual corrosion, etc.
Glass is all complete, seemingly original and uncracked, though there is a chip in each half of the screen.
The car comes complete with its huge file of history and bills, must be nearly two inches thick. It also has it's original Owners Manual, Range Brochure, and leaflet, and a reproduction Fisher Body repair and Maintenance manual. It will also come with UK V5 document, 12 months Historic Tax and an age related number plate.
Also included are the original 1949 Washington State license plates which are a lovely addition to the car.
Overall a super old Buick, very classy, in a super colour with lovely interior and overhauled mechanics and ready to enjoy.
Viewing and driving is highly recommended, I've been honest and you won't be disappointed.
We live near Howden in East Yorkshire ten minutes from junction 37 of the M62. I work from home so you can view at any reasonable hour.
Car is garaged in a large and brightly lit building and you can view it day or evening, fine or raining.
