Reliable and rather stylish little machine, 197 cc two stroke motor with four speed gear box. I bought this bike a couple of years ago with the intention of restoring it but other projects have got in the way and I find that I have simply been using it as everyday transport and for club events. It has never given any serious problems and is a pleasure to ride.
It is NOT a show winner. A lot of the original paint is still in place on the frame, side panels and mud guards and this is in very good condition but the tank has been "restored" at some time and now requires attention. The wheels have been rebuilt on new rims but these must have been of poor quality because the chrome has pitted in places. The wheels are fine but they are not the bike's best feature.
The machine has adequate brakes a comfortable saddle and a very smooth ride due to its sophisticated suspension system. Spares are readily available by return post from English speaking German suppliers.
These bikes were very popular in their own country but are not well known here so always attract interest and comment. The quality of engineering is excellent. Everything fits very well and nothing seems to have been built down to a price. I have just returned from a 250 mile round trip in France without any issues.
I am reluctantly selling because tennis elbow, probably due to too many BMWs, dictates a twist and go scooter will have to be considered. Oh dear, the indignities of approaching old age!
