Here we have for sale a very smart Land Rover® Series 2a with lights in the wings, presented in very desirable Light Pastel Green with popular ragtop configuration - ideal for the summer months ahead. However, during winter months, this vehicle would also give good service having knobbly tyres, a good working heater, and warm canvas - a year round, useable vehicle.
On the outside, the vehicle has a recent canvas top, uprated defender-type mirrors for better visibility, and larger 750 tyres for better gearing. The Razor Bonnet and Maltese Grill survive, all adding to the period charm of this handsome vehicle. There is also a handy tow-bar which would allow towing if required. As the photos indicate, the paintwork is of an unusually good standard, and the bodywork is remarkably straight for a vehicle of this age.
On the inside, the vehicle benefits from a full deluxe front seat set, including deluxe matting. A seat-belt bar is fitted to allow 3 point safety belts, for added safety. The vehicle has a heater fitted with de-misters for the front windscreen - a handy feature which isn't seen in a lot of vehicles this age. The back is unfitted however Bench Seats could be retro-fitted at low cost.
Out on the road, the 2286cc Petrol engine, coupled with uprated carburettor, oversized tyres and Range Rover Differentials transforms the driving experience. The longer gearing ratios, give longer in-gear acceleration and a higher speed cruise at lower revs.
In summary this is a very nicely presented soft-top 2a, in rare "crossover" configuration. It would be ideal as a future family member for guaranteed investment, whilst being a useable classic.
