History & Provenance
This cherished vehicle is registered to me at my home address and i have the log book.
I store the vehicle in a heated garage with my other classics and its not exposed to the elements.
There is an extensive history file that comes with the car.
Supplied new by Saab Franchised dealers Henley’s of Chester i have a full and documented file of invoices for all works done since new. The comprehensive document pack includes service records from SAAB main agents and well known SAAB specialists. Needless to say the service book is fully stamped up.
I also have the original brochure, handbook and 3 keys.
Mechanicals
This vehicle can only be described as in remarkably smart condition for its age with much time, money and love being invested in car.
The car is mechanically perfect. Both engine and gearbox run faultlessly.
Turbo boosts as it should with the distinctive saab note putting a smile on my face every time.
Many new parts have recently been fitted including both front ball joints, new central locking motor, boot struts, ignition switch, numerous rubber air pipes, lucas intercooler, air flow sensor, oil sensor light, and a complete new ignition system to include; coil, leads, rotor, spark plugs and distributor cap.
A full engine flush, filter and oil change were performed 100 miles ago at 131, 900 miles at the same time as the MOT.
Car has MOT till 25/ 2/ 18. Passed last MOT with no advisories.
Car drives runs and drives beautifully with a sweet note.
Body work
This is the most desirable version of this car being the 2 door coupe with sunroof.
Finished in the best colour the exterior is in stunning overall condition with no rust, scratches or dents. The ruby finish glows and is a highly unusual shade of red.
Also features a super rare Carlsson Whale Tail that has been professionally refurbished with the decor panel colour coded. No expense has been spared. It looks the business on the car.
All new wheel arch trims (originals are very frail and brittle by now)
Front / back bumpers are in perfect undamaged order with all the very hard to find silver trim having been replaced as some areas were missing when i purchased the car.
Wheels
Very Hard to find original Saab Cross Spokes that have been recently professionally refurbished. They are in perfect condition with not a scratch on them.
All 4 tyres are in excellent order with plenty of tread on them. 4 Wheel laser alignment has also been recently done.
Brakes in good order.
Interior & Coachwork
The dash and instrument panel and vents are all in perfect condition with none of the common cracking.
Seats are upholstered in grey velour which is in remarkably clean condition.
The door cards, roof lining, rear parcel shelf, boot space and rear pillars are in fresh as new condition having been retrimed in April at great expense by Roger Davies Coachworks of Birmingham.
Overall the interior is in clean as new condition, even has the original Saab floor mats.
Electrics
All electrics work perfectly including the central locking, sunroof, fans, windows, wipers, water pump, radio and no warning lights on dash.
The sound system has been up rated to a sony removable head set with CD and up rated speakers.
Ariel extends and retracts without fault.
Extras
Included in the sale are the following original items that have been collected as spares for the car and are all in excellent / fully working / undamaged order:
• Private Number Plate
• Lucas intercooler (supplied by Two stroke to turbo)
• 4 x 15 spoke Saab alloy wheels and Center caps. All in perfect undamaged condition.
• An original standard boot lid spoiler
• Wind deflector for sunroof
