For sale is my 1949 D1 Bantam Rigid , Mag Gen engine ( very rare I am told ) fully restored with matching frame and engine numbers just been re registered with age related plate as could not recover the original one even though had the number on old tax discs .
Has later headlight and switch but have original Wipac lever type bowl and lens with it , lights not currently working off generator possible coil issue as they will all function if you connect a battery . Nearly all original ( have been told be some experts that some parts are slightly newer than 1949, petrol tank being one allegedly 1951 .
Engine and wheels fully rebuilt by Bantam specialist , new clutch , seals , piston rings , bearings , brakes , chain , speedo drive unit , cable and clock rebuilt by specialists . I have the cover for the points , starts easily and runs but could do with fine tuning on timiming and carb ( which has been ultrasonic ally cleaned ) if you are going to use regularly .
Change in my circumstances is only reason for sale as I wanted to keep this one . Not a Concorse resto but not asking that money , a very good usable bike that will continue to appreciate in value.
Looking at £2250 no silly offers please I know how much these early bikes
make and it is priced realistically .
