Maserati 300s inspired Vehicle
This is based on a modern BMW Z3 so has 1960’s supercar looks and performance with none of the downsides. It’s cheap to insure (around £180 fully comp), returns up to 35MPG and is cheap to service. It is not a replica but is inspired by the beautiful lines of the fabulous Maserati 300s. From the front it could be an E-type, Ginetta or TVR but the rear is unique.

The car is based on a modern vehicle with a legendary record of reliability, well equipped Z3 with a galvanised chassis and now with thick strong fibreglass panels should last forever, and no renovation work needed every few years like classic cars. Only a handful of these are in existence (6) and will appreciate in value. Ownership should be almost free.
This particular model was built by my husband to my specification but also doubled as the factory demonstrator for Nubodi Automotive (- details above) so was built to an extra high standard. These rarely come up for sale
Donor car
I prefer automatic cars so we sourced a 1. 9 auto. It was a Japanese import in 2001 which means it had all the options of the larger engined cars supplied in the UK
It has around 140 BHP which not the fastest of cars but adequate. It's all about the looks and sound for me. As the Z3 was based around the E36 3 series the parts are plentiful and cheap.
Specification
Electric windows (both one touch), ABS, remote central locking alarm, (2 remotes), heated seats, power steering, Air conditioning (needs a re-gas as we have never used it) MOT till September 2018. The roof is in perfect condition with a clearish rear window. Takes a second to put down and up, log book in my name (correctly registered... not as a BMW Z3), original Z3 toolkit,
Engine & Gearbox
The car starts first time every time, does not smoke and is quiet, it has just had a full service, including gearbox oil & filter change, brakes are very good, tyres fairly good and exhaust all new. The 4 speed auto box changes up perfectly as it should, has sport mode too.
Wheels and tyres
These are 19" alloy with stainless steel rim. They were refurbished silver when built and are in beautiful condition. Tyres all round are 235 / 35 x 19. Special wheel nuts help keep them in place from thieves. It has wide rear wheel spacers that were made in Poland by the company that supplies the British drifting champion in aircraft aluminium.
One tyre was advised on MOT low but no big deal, common size
Exterior
It was painted in 2 pack Toyota Speedway blue metallic. There are some blemishes and marks through general use but still very presentable. The hood is in great condition and does not leak.
Interior
Fairly standard interior, black leather in great condition, with soft steering wheel cover and custom made mats.

Maserati boot script, 4 x wheel badges, steering wheel badge, 2 x Pinafarina side badges, trident grille badge and badges on mats
Other
Black & silver number plates, LED headlights, colour coded rollbars and fire extinguisher, bee sting anodised blue aerial, chrome side repeaters and washer jets, chrome door handles, clipfront CD player, seat belt pads, iridescent front indicators, stainless custom mirrors, chrome windscreen wipers, Audi TT fuel cap with remote cable opening, recent replacement battery, battery cut-off switch for winter or security, LED rear lights and bootlid light, chrome LED number plate rear lights, etc, etc
Faults
A couple of annoying ones, there is a vibration from the front wheels above 60MPH (tyres need balancing) bulb which illuminates the mileage has blown but still readable. Both are liveable and do not detract from the overall experience. Just nit picking really.
It has a full stainless steel custom made exhaust system with a Porsche centre tailpipe. This makes it sound awesome but LOUD. A silencer could be added cheaply and easily
What could be better, an appreciating classic car in its own right with 1960’s styling that is bulletproof reliable and has all the features of a modern BMW, can be fixed and diagnosed in any garage, can be used all year round.
The car turns heads everywhere! If you want a stunning looking, rare, unusual, reliable convertible then look no further.
