A remarkably preserved and very original example and with just 52, 000 miles from new, this beautiful XK140 Fixed Head Coupe was first registered 9th October 1956 in the UK as one of only 738 original right hand drive examples. The car is finished in Burnt Orange on Black leather interior and remains completely matching numbers with original engine, gearbox and chassis/ body. UK registered on plate 892 UYX.
The car is exceptionally well sorted mechanically with the engine making excellent oil pressure, maintaining good operating temperatures and delivering very strong power and torque. The original Moss gearbox shifts very precisely and operates well having been recently refurbished.
This example was upgraded to SE specification in 1975 which increases power from 193 to 213 metric horsepower. In addition the car has recently been fitted with uprated suspension which leads to far greater composure and improved road holding as well as improved ride comfort.
The original interior is presented very well with the Walnut dash exceptionally good and free from cracks. The leather seats, door cards and headliner have each worn particularly well with a very pleasing patina and no unsatisfactory marks.
The original tool kit including tyre pump, tools and grease gun is present as is the original Jaguar ‘Operating, Maintenance and Service and Handbook’ with lubrication chart. The car is supplied UK registered, with heritage certificate and 100-point pre-purchase inspection.
