1992 Citroen AX GT MK2

A now very rare old school hot hatch in original standard condition. Very few of these cars survive now, and even less left in original condition. I've owned AXs since 2004 and have had 16 of them. They are great cars!
The car is MOTd until 02/ 08/ 2018, has 2 sets of keys and all its original owner's book pack, an original dealer brochure and a Haynes manual. Lots of old mots and service bills. The service book is stamped up to 1997. There is an invoice for a new cambelt in October 2014.
I've not had it all that long and am only selling it as I have just bought another MK2 AX, and don't have room for both as I do have a few other cars as well. I am a Citroen enthusiast and member of the AX Owners Club (AXOC) and Citroen Car Club (CCC)
The previous owner has spent a lot of money getting it back on the road, all welding needed for mot is done,( it needed both sides of inner wings under the bonnet doing, and work to the underside of the boot floor, also around nearside suspension mount). Very good sills and around the rear side windows where they seem to suffer, good underside, good interior, 4 brand new tyres only covered 1, 000 miles, new battery fitted as old one had quit, new tca, oil & filter service, new oil breather pipe. 3 stage professional machine polish to bodywork to bring the colour and shine back from it standing several years, full interior valet. Fully under sealed underneath.
The car comes with a new set of original red GT pinstripes that just need to be fitted.
The car is in overall decent condition but does require further cosmetic work to paintwork in places, and some rust areas- offside rear arch starting to go at top behind trim (but this hasn't progressed up to the fuel filler neck like so many AXs do. The passenger door has some rust in bottom front corner and along leading shut edge, also has had a poor repainted area around lock(see pics). Wheels could do with a refurb (been quoted £70 per wheels - diamond cut)
Interior is overall good, there was no radio fitted when I got it but I will include a CD radio unit for new owner to fit.
So to sum up, a rare opportunity to purchase a standard AX GT. These cars are very hard to find now in any condition and are starting to increase in value as with many sporty cars from the 80's and early 90's. A lot of work has been done already but as with all old cars, it does require further work in various areas. Everybody's expectations are different so please do not expect a concours show car. It could be made really nice with further work. Once all areas listed above have been sorted this car is easily worth £4, 000- £5, 000 and will increase in value year on year. To drive and live with this GT is brillaint, it rides, handles, start and stops as it should and really does bring a smile to my face on a daily basis.
