Introduced in 1956, The Austin A35 came to replace the super successful Austin A30.
The name reflected the increased capacity of the in-line-four cylinder «A-Series» engine, which was also more powerful, pushing 54cv, allowing the A35 a slightly higher top speed and better acceleration than its predecessor.
Aesthetically the A35 is very similar to the A30, except for a larger rear window and a front grille painted with chrome frame. The blinkers were also modernized using indicator lights instead of the «semaphore» indicators.
It used 13-inch wheels like the A30.
The gearbox used a simpler operate remote-control gear-change than the A30, and the better graded quay ratios were crucial to the A35’s better performance.
Like the A30, the A35 was available in «2 door sallon», «4 door sallon», «Contryman» and «Van» models. There was also a small production of only 477 units of a «PickUp« version.
This Austin A35 has been fully restored and is in prime condition.
