THE CAR.
Here we have a really nice Series III E-type 2+2 with the famous Jaguar 5. 3 V12. This car is LHD and was selected by our North American team, and imported by ourselves into the UK.
In many peoples eyes, this although perhaps not the prettiest E-type, is the easiest to drive with positive power steering, excellent handling and roadholding, silky smooth engine and gearbox combined with additional cabin space. This car is finished in metallic silver with blue leather interior. The car has MOT and UK registration, with just 39, 000 recorded miles. .
ENGINE AND GEARBOX
The legendary 5. 3 litre V12 engine pulls silkily and very strongly and the gear changes through the 3-speed automatic box are smooth both up and down the box and on kick-down. The engine is fed by 4 carburetors and starts immediately cold or hot and very quickly settles to a smooth tickover, all the while giving very good oil pressure. We believe the recorded mileage to be genuine, and everything about the dynamics of the car would seem to be further confirmation of this.
THE INTERIOR.
The Series III interior is beautifully trimmed with blue leather that is devoid of splits or damage. The seats are very comfortable, and the fascia is identical to UK-spec Jaguars with all the dials and controls working. The carpets are in all round good condition and the car benefits from a new set or rubber seals around all doors and windows.
THE EXTERIOR
This V12 E-type is straight and undamaged and has recently been repainted in its original metallic silver. Both paintwork and chromework are in excellent condition. The very rare original chrome wheels with hubcaps are fitted, complemented by whitewall tyres.
HISTORY
Little is known of the history of this car as it spent its life from new in Canada, but it clearly has been well preserved and there is a Heritage Certificate supplied with the car.
CONCLUSION
We strongly recommend this E-type series 3 V12, and the car is supplied with a 3 month engine and gearbox warranty, which is extendable at a small cost. The car represents very good value for money, and with its overall condition in line with its mileage and age, we have no hesitation in saying that there won't be many around offering better value and driveability than this example.
