We are delighted to present for sale this smart Series 2a, in popular soft-top configuration. It came to us from just the 4th previous keeper, and required some light recomissioning to prepare it for sale.... actually, a new battery, some new HT leads and spark plugs, fresh fuel, and a clean out of the sedimenter had it running very sweetly indeed! It appears that prior to it being rested up, that it had had some previous light restoration, and it was nice to see that all areas we inspected had ben oiled and greased as they should. The general feel of the whole vehicle is that of "bog standard originality". It still sports the dynamo charging (although it's a replacement new item) but that gives the feel - the original heater is fitted to the interior and it still works - the dash lights work, the speedo, fuel and charging dials work.... in fact it all worked, which is so rare when a vehicle comes to us.
The interior houses two seats in the front, with a cubby box, although a third seat can be fitted if required. The rear is unfitted except for a mat, but again, benches can be added without great cost.... this would work particularly well mated to the recent canvas with sided windows - these help with interior passenger comfort and also give better visibility out on the road.
Externally, this lovely old 2a is very original and as you would expect.... it even has the original number plates (Henry or Harry would be a good name for this old truck!). There are a good set of matching 600 tyres, which help with acceleration and road holding.... it's a nice little drive and bombs along really well - it's a very period and original driving experience, just as they should be.
In summary, this is, in our opinion, a super little ragtop 2a, desperately seeking a long term family to house it on their gravel drive to take the kids and dogs to the beach or park! It would look equally smart in the city to give a "stand out from the crowd" feel.
