1992 K Rover 216 GTI Twin Cam.
Solid Black / Tempest Grey 5 door, 3 previous keepers
These cars are getting quite rare now with numbers left are around 66 in total.
Just a bit about me - I have worked for MG/ Rover/ MG Motor for the last 21 years, I am a massive MG Rover fan - However due to health reasons I've had to make a decision which has been a really hard one to sell off my collection of MG/ Rover vehicles as im struggling to work on them.
I purchased the car last year after searching for one for ages. This was one of the last cars my father had before he passed away and I thought I would love to find and restore another one.
It's covered 114k but has now been off the road since 2009, it has been mainly dry stored over this period. The car is completely standard bar a more modern CD head unit.
Body wise it's actually quite good, the solid black paint polishes up well. There are no rust on any of the doors, bonnet, front wings, rear qtr's - there is a very small area of surface corrosion on the n/ s/ f wing lower tempest grey section as show in the photos but this only cosmetic.
The O/ s/ r wheel arch has 2 small dents this has caused it to go rusty but once again its only surface corrosion.
The n/ s/ r qtr at the bottom once again has very slight surface corrosion but is not holed and is really solid still so once again its only cosmetic.
It will require welding on the O/ s/ r sill at the back edge - Photo attached.
I do have the sill spats - they were removed to carry out sill inspections.
Few small parking dents, nothing bad, dent devils could get them out.
The car at some time has a cover on it, this has caused the roof to go dull, I think some of the cover may have got stuck to the roof, I haven’t tried to remove the remains as wasn’t really sure what to use on it. There are some small rust bubbles where the windscreen meets the roof rubber but once again only minor.
All 5 alloy wheels are there, 3 are in good condition, 2 would benefit from a light refurb. I only have 2 of the small centre caps. The tyres all have good tread - however have got some bad cracking and wont pass a MOT so I am including a full set of refurbished Turbo coupé wheels and really good tyres in the sale as shown in the last photo.
The car starts on the button, stops, runs and drives, but I have never driven it on the road. It will obviously need re-commissioning and a new MOT before it can go back on the road.
Everything seems to work fine, there are no cracks or nasty chips on the windscreen, the exhaust has no leaks, the brakes work OK.
The engine runs smoothly - no signs of smoke. It holds temperature nicely with the fans cutting in and out as they should. This is the Honda twin cam 16v engine - not the K series.
There is a slight noise from the clutch release bearing, not bad, may go with some use.
The interior is good, no nasty rips or stains, drivers seat bolster foam is still good, just needs a good shampoo.
The car was originally supplied by F J Keen & Son Ltd Rover dealers, it comes with it's owners handbook, Service record book (partly stamped), CD player handbook, 2 keys, V5 Registration certificate ( in my name ) MOT history, HPI all clear report certificate confirming it hasn’t been a write off.
Will also come with a Haynes workshop manual.
The car will not be sold to overseas, please no time wasters, I've been messed around of late and just cant be doing with it. I really would like to to go a real rover enthusiast like my self.

1990 MG Maestro 2. 0 efi British Racing Green, 75k FSH, been dry stored since 2009.
1996 MGF 1. 8i Flame Red, Red Cloth interior, good hood, 101k been dry stored for the last 7 years, not rusty in the usual areas.
These are all registered in my name with all V5 and hpi clear reports present.
