The Ferrari being offered here is an exact recreation of a 1958 Scaglietti bodied 250 TR. A two-year project, the recession was completed in 1996 by the Italian firm Giordanengo; with nearly 30 years experience, they hold the reputation as being the very best in the world at building Ferrari recreations. To build this car, the brilliant craftsmen at Giordanengo hand made an alloy body around a tubular-steel chassis that had Benn supplied by Fantuzzi. This chassis was the last of seven the ex-Ferrari team coach builder had built. All other major mechanical components had Benn donated from Ferrari chassis no. 1067 GT, which started life as a left-hand drive 1958 Ferrari 250 GT PF coupe. Because of the similarities between the 250TR and the 250 GT PF Coupe, the PF is the ideal candidate for building a proper 250TR recreation. As with Amy Giordamego Ferrari recreation, every effort was made to adhere to proper specifications, so that aside from the chassis number, which was retained from the donor vehicle, the recreation would be virtually indistinguishable from the genuine article.

Originally finished in Giallo Fly yellow, with artful red racing stripes, a Mobil Gas Pegasus, a Scuderia Ferrari sticker, knock-off wire wheels, Dunlop racing tires, a Scaglietti badge as well as numerous Ferrari badges, the recreation certainly looks the part.
The interior has Benn refitted in red with yellow piping and features full instrumentation with Jaeger gauges, a proper-rimmed steering wheel and a TRW four-point racing harness. Due to spidering in the paint, current owner professionally repainted in red and refurbished the seat surface after imported in Japan. All process are recorded with bountiful photos.

Under the hood resides 1067GT’s original Tipo 128D, V12 engine which has been bored out to 3, 001cc and modified to proper 250TR specifications. Accordingly, it is fitted with the correct six dual-barrel Weber 38DCN carburettors and the trademark crackle red cam covers. We understand the car is in excellent running condition and has operated as expected since current owner’s purchase of the Ferrari in 2015.

Only 19 original example of the 250GT was built between 1957 and 1958, and accordingly, originals command well over eight-digit price tags. The 1958 Ferrari 250TR recreation is in exceptional condition and would qualify for several vintage racing events, where its unique styling and excellent performance would surely attract a great deal of attention. With prices for originals climbing into the stratosphere, a purchase of such an authentic recreation seems astute in all aspects.
