1971 VW Beetle 1300 “Billy” for reluctant sale - £3950
Restored in 2009 and used regularly until 2012 when the owner moved to Australia. Stored in my garage and continuously taxed, insured, MOT’d and used in fair weather to maintain running order.
70, 000 miles on the clock which is believed to be original. It has the original engine and gearbox.
The car was restored in 2009 and included the following:
new front wings, repairs to "A" posts, rear quarter panels, spare wheel well panel, rear cross panel – all with welded replacement panels from VW Heritage.
Front suspension overhauled with new front axle beam, upper and lower ball joints, bushes and shock absorbers.
Exhaust system and heat exchangers.
Front seats reupholstered and new covers fitted front and rear.
New interior headliner fitted.
Steel Sprint Star wheels sand blasted and resprayed.
Full respray on completion of restoration.
Other work includes:
Replacement clutch
Vacuum advance distributor with electronic ignition.
Rear shock absorbers fitted for latest MOT.
Sills and heater channels were replaced by a previous owner.
Invoices for all work are available on request.
Passed recent MOT 11 April 2018 with no advisories.
