Description
History of the Alfa Romeo Spider "Coda Tronca" The first Alfa Romeo Spider, in the new 105 series, was presented for the first time in 1966. The second "coda tronca" series was launched in 1969 and was built almost unchanged until 1983. These two series are still considered cult convertibles today, as is the 4-cylinder engine with twin camshafts, the sound of which is beyond doubt. A choice piece that still makes the hearts of Alfists beat faster. The perfect design of the Fastback was created by Pininfarina and is considered a timeless success. Alfa Romeo offered the 1300, 1600, 1750 versions and, for the first time in the Coda Tronca, the 2-litre engine, combined with a 5-speed gearbox, a very decent chassis and disc brakes. The most powerful and sought-after 2-litre version accelerated from 0 to 100 km/ h in less than 10 seconds and reached a remarkable top speed of 195 km/ h.
