Beautiful restoration of this January 1974 RD which has just blown out its 52nd birthday! Motorcycle rebuilt to over 95%. Frame repainted. Crank/ connecting rod assembly redone by Emac: bearings + connecting-rod kits. Cylinders bored to the third oversize: +0. 75 mm. Complete Yamaha original pistons purchased in the USA (old stock). 2 new Yamaha original cylinder heads. All gaskets are genuine Yamaha parts as well as all bearings (base gaskets, head gaskets, oil seals, crankcase seals, gearbox bearings…). All quiet blocks are new. New battery. Complete new lighting. Two new gauges. Both wheels rebuilt: chromed rims and spokes. Fork rebuilt: polished stanchions, seals, dust covers and oil. Caliper rebuilt: pads + piston seals. Front drum brake shoes new. Seat redone: cover + foam. New air filter. Cables for gears, speedometer and clutch new. New exhaust chokes. New dashboard: grips + handlebars + master cylinder + both gauges + clutch lever + the two chrome mirrors. New indicators. Tank treated with Restom. Two new Mikuni VM28 carburettors (jets: 30-120). New original reed blades. The tyres, Dunlop K82, in good condition, were replaced by the previous owner. New chain kit (Afam 16-39). New clutch discs. The paintwork is original and has been re-polished by the previous owner. A seventies two-stroke motorcycle enthusiast, I take great pleasure in restoring a few of them: 400 KH, 350 RDLC-4LO, 400 RD. Today I lack the time to finish this 350 RD (for health reasons). The remaining 5% concerns the two carburettors: a fine adjustment will be required (synchro, air screw, replace the 120 jets with 140 jets which will be supplied with the bike…).
