Description
This 1950s barquette has an aluminium body and tubular steel chassis created by Autotecnica del Lario (ATL) on the basis of a Fiat 1100. The vehicle's original "Carta di Circolazione" indicates a Fiat Mille Cento, chassis 1520040, first registration 1956, "omologazione barchetta". The document from the Italian province of Cremona is dated 28. 10. 1966, which suggests that the vehicle was converted into a barquette in 1966. Belgian registration The aluminium bodywork was created by Giorgio Greppi at his Colico bodyworks, near Lake Como in Lombardy. Greppi is a master craftsman who used to build vehicles by hand as well as some reproductions (TZ1, Disco Volante) at Autotecnica del Lario or ATL. He recently bodied the F. LLI. Frigerio 'Berlinetta SS', which competed at the Villa d'Este Concours d'Elegance in 2014.
The engine is a Fiat 1100/ 103 (66 cu in) OHV four-cylinder with twin Weber 30 carburettors and a rare Testadoro engine head. The brown trim is in good condition. The green paintwork has a patina and the wheels are fitted with full rims with period Fiat hubcaps. The owner has refurbished the front suspension (Dubonnet type) and brakes, made ergonomic improvements, fitted a new fuel tank and replaced some electrical components and wiring. The car can be seen in Brussels (Uccle).
