Description
For sale: 78 R100S in very good condition. Drives every day or almost every day when the weather is fine and sleeps in a garage. Normal registration in my name. The odometer shows 12102 km, which I obviously cannot certify. It's probably on its first run and must therefore have 112, 000 km ;).
It's had a facelift recently and many parts are new or recent: less than 1, 000 km: - clutch and crankshaft output and gearbox input seals, - rebuilt ATE front callipers and changed front brake hoses which were as old as the bike, - rebuilt ATE front brake master cylinder + new cable, - new battery less than 5, 000 km: - not knowing the bike's actual mileage, I changed the connecting rod bearings + valves + valve guides as a preventive measure. With the top end removed, I took the opportunity to change the pistons and re-bore the cylinders. The upper engine is new and run-in. - new alternator, - complete rebuild of the fork: spis seals + friction rings + drain, - front and rear wheel bearings, - rebuild of the 2 bing carburettors (new needles and seals / ultrasound for the jets), - rebuild of the fuel taps (seals), - all new fuel hoses, - axle inlet seal, - steering damper, - Sabater side stand for greater comfort. Most of the parts come from Pocka, which only distributes original parts or OEM parts that are better than the originals, which it has tested itself. Discs and pads are in good condition. The tyres are at 50% and I fitted a USB-C 12V power cable after contact. The little cooler that you can see on the right-hand side hides a GrandLaurent module that old-engine enthusiasts should be familiar with. Following the example of the Cartier module fitted to old Renault cars, this 'transistorises' the ignition, which relieves the breakers of the 4A sent to them by the coils and bypasses the capacitor, which is often the weak point of the original ignition. The result is a smoother-running engine, lower fuel consumption (less than 5l/ 100km) and breakers that last much longer. The system is very easy to remove/ shunt if desired. It's currently fitted with Ohlins shock absorbers that were rebuilt this winter by PFP racing, the official importer of the brand. I can swap them out for almost new Shock Factory ones if desired. It's fitted with lockable cases, and it really works hard for a grandmother of almost 50. The handling is impeccable with these shocks. It obviously goes on the road and covers all distances without any worries. The CT will of course be done for the sale.
