The engine has a larger displacement (1, 767 cm³) and develops 52 bhp (38 kW) instead of 1, 697 cm³ with 38 bhp (28 kW), giving a top speed of 120 km/ h. This model, available as a saloon, cabriolet A and cabriolet B, is the first Mercedes-Benz vehicle to be given the "S" designation; it was often used as a company car.
