Description
If ever there was a typically British roadster to name, it's a safe bet that the MG (for Morris Garages) B would be one of them. This model, which produced more than 500, 000 (!) units between 1962 and 1980, obviously had a total of 4 versions, which is logical for its 18 years of production... There were around 350, 000 convertible versions (and 150, 000 coupé versions (known as GTs)). For the record, before being dethroned by the Mazda MX5, the MG B cabriolet was the best-selling cabriolet in the world! NYC's/ OXOTO is offering for sale a very fine example of the MG B in green (British Racing Green) with black leather interior and less than 137, 000 miles on the clock. The life of this MG is well traceable. As the certificate of authenticity attests, it was delivered new to Canterbury, England, in April 1979. From the factory, it was right-hand drive and blue with grey leather interior. It then became Dutch before becoming Belgian in 2010. Its current Belgian owner has owned it since September 2014, when it totalled less than 131, 000 Ml. After 11 years of ownership, he decided to sell it due to a lack of time to enjoy it. The bodywork looks good, but is not perfect. There's a paint flaw in the front passenger-side rocker panel. Otherwise, it looks good, and we didn't see any dents or scratches. The interior looks really good. Apart from a very fine tear on the back of the passenger headrest, there's nothing to say, everything else is impeccable: seats, dashboard, centre console, door interiors, etc ... and what a magnificent wooden Moto-lita steering wheel! The soft top is also in superb condition, with no defects to report.
The chrome is also in good condition, including the front bumper, the windscreen surround and the mouldings... just the rear bumper, which shows signs of ageing. As for the mechanics, the current owner has really taken good care of it. We have a good record of maintenance invoices for the last 10 years. See photos of invoices totalling more than €4, 500 in miscellaneous costs on our website. Photos taken on the lift are available on our website. The latest MOT report dates from March 2025 (136, 453 Ml) and is valid. It does, however, note a few minor remarks, which are quite logical for a car over 40 years old (headlights, visibility, engine seepage, etc.) A lift is available at our premises to show you the underside of the car.
