Description
2CV AZA 1969, sound bodywork preserved, mechanics restored. A very authentic patina for this Citroën 2CV 425 cm3, 18hp, dated 29/ 10/ 1969, Thasos blue, brown grain leatherette, soft top never changed. Normal registration document. Purchased by the previous owners second hand 6 months in April 1970 direct from Citroën, quai de Javel, Paris. The car was stored in a barn in the Rouergue region of France for 30 years from 1991 to 2021. The sound bodywork has been kept as is with the addition of a small sheet metal panel to the front floor (the panel is only split at the crease under the pedals). The front wings had been changed a long time ago to have indicators, so I left them. The mechanics have been completely renovated. New brakes: all the pipes are new, as are all the hoses, wheel cylinders, master cylinders and linings. Engine: new liners and pistons, valve honing, new clutch and release bearing, new centrifugal clutch ring, new vintage Zenith carburettor, high reliability transistorised ignition, platinum-plated screws, Champion spark plugs, new petrol pump, air filter, petrol filter, new intake/ exhaust manifold, new 25 litre petrol tank, new oil cooler, new oil filler pipe, new breather and cap, 2 new engine mounts, new wheel-side universal joint, new universal joint bellows.
The 4 Michelin 125/ 15 tyres are new, the 4 wheel bearings are new, the rear shock absorbers are new, the front suspension wipers have been overhauled, the 6V battery is new, the windscreen wiper motor has been dismantled and overhauled, one headlight lens has been replaced, new lamps, led rear light lamps, new rear light caps, new Tridon 6V electronic flasher unit, the speedo socket has been replaced, the speedo cable is new, and two Marchal 6V relays have been fitted for the dipped beam and headlights. New brown leatherette upholstery has been fitted to the front seats. Since the refurbishment, the car has covered over 9000km, is absolutely reliable and can be driven over any distance.
