Magnificent Austin Healey 3000 MKIII restored at great expense in 2020 with a renowned classic car restorer in France (invoices of more than €75, 000).
Absolutely everything has been overhauled from A to Z, whether bodywork, engine or upholstery and hood. A lot of high-quality new parts have been used to make this Austin Healey reliable without spoiling its original character.
Three Weber carburetters were preferred to the SU for better performance and engine responsiveness in acceleration. Note also the presence of electronic ignition.
In the same spirit, a high-quality adjustable front and rear suspension kit was fitted. Also, a modification to the front end allows geometry to be altered in all angles.
Since this restoration, nearly 7, 000 km have been covered for the owner's great pleasure.
This Austin Healey 3000 MKIII (type 300BJ8) was shipped to the United States in 1964 before being imported into France and restored. The original Ice Blue colour was reinstated during the vehicle's restoration.
All the upholstery is new, as is the soft top (not shown in the photos), tonneau cover and hood cover which were bespoke-made in dark blue alpaca.
The presence of a hard top is a real plus, giving a more racing look while allowing you to drive this Austin Healey in all weather and all seasons.
Our BJ8 Phase 2 is the most desirable of the standard Austin Healeys with its more luxurious equipment, such as the wooden dashboard, and its technical and mechanical enhancements (stiffer bodied chassis for better handling, rear-axle guidance, larger brake discs, etc.).
At the wheel, one appreciates its easy handling, especially over long distances thanks to its overdrive. As for the sound, it is enchanting and perfectly in step with this engine and these Weber carburetters that are ready to climb through the revs.
Announced at 200 km/ h in its day, the BJ8's playground remains secondary roads, even if today it can practically do anything.
