Description
After the Second World War, surplus aviation fuel tanks remained unused. Some of these additional fuel tanks were even dropped in low-risk zones (desert or sea) as a return from missions. Driven by a sense of freedom, young Americans recovered these tanks and built speed machines to race on beaches and salt lakes.
Thus were born the “BELLY TANK”.
Our vehicle was built mainly during the 2020/ 2021 lockdowns, allowing us to maintain excellent morale and gain a rich human and technical experience. This amounts to roughly 1, 600 hours of labour plus all the old mechanical parts.
We followed an important rule: 95% of parts dated before 1960 were used, with many components crafted by our own hands.
