Description
After World War II, stock of additional tanks from aviation remained unused. Some of these extra fuel tanks were even dropped in low-risk areas (desert or sea), on return from missions. Driven by a sense of freedom, young Americans recovered these tanks and built speed machines to race on beaches and salty lakes.
Thus were born the “BELLY TANK”.
Our vehicle was mainly built during the lockdowns of 2020/ 2021, allowing us to maintain excellent morale and to gain a rich human and technical experience. This represents around 1, 600 man-hours of labour plus all the old mechanical parts.
We adhered to an important rule: 95% of parts dated before 1960, with many bespoke parts manufactured by our own hands.
