While the front end was almost identical to that of the saloon, its design became more avant-garde and modern from the A-pillar upwards. The absence of a B-pillar, the possibility of lowering the rear windows and the large rear window brought plenty of light into the cabin, while giving it a modern and elegant look. Under the bonnet was the most powerful engine of this generation, launched almost at the end of its commercial life. A 3. 5-litre V8 developing 200 bhp and a considerable 286 Nm of torque, enough to move its 1, 500 kilos with ease on all roads and in all circumstances.
