With its iconic silhouette, black wings and instantly recognisable charm, the Charleston is among the most desirable versions of the 2CV. It’s a car you buy to smile, to travel differently, and to recapture that simple pleasure: hitting the road without rushing, roof down, and enjoying it.
The example we present today is a 1983 Charleston, in excellent condition, and above all completely rebuilt from A to Z. Its current owner, a meticulous former mechanic, fully restored the car in 2021, in a state worthy of its 1983 factory debut.
The history of its past isn’t fully known: this beauty had been left to languish in a garage. When the owner retrieved it, everything needed to be rebuilt, from the chassis to the mechanics. During the restoration, a few enhancements were made to improve reliability: the chassis was fully galvanised and the mechanics were fitted with electronic ignition.
Furthermore, a book detailing the complete restoration will be sold with the car, illustrated with photos, from the day it was discovered in that garage to the day it was completed. The owner has enjoyed the car for around 5, 000 km so far, nothing to report, the car runs perfectly.
This 2CV is a genuine Charleston, identifiable by numerous details. However, the registration document, lost when the car was abandoned, had to be replaced with a 2CV “classic” registration from the same year.
The owner has a substantial file of spare parts invoices.
