Description
For sale: a 1960 Simca Marly in perfect running condition. The vehicle’s peculiarity is that it is fitted with LPG with a specific mines badge in the engine bay and a note on the registration document. It has nevertheless retained its petrol installation, which allows, via a switch, to switch from petrol to gas and vice versa.
It also features a tow hitch enabling it to tow an old caravan.
In terms of specification, it has a 13 hp Simca V8 (around 70, 000 km) and it was restored by the previous owner about 30 years ago.
The tyres are new (approximately 2, 000 km) and the front braking system has just been overhauled (copper brake lines, linings redone with invoices). The hot and cold air ducts are new, the deflector seals need replacing (new seals are supplied) and the upholstery is in good condition.
It would require cosmetic exterior care to be perfect, such as refinishing the roof rack, but the paintwork is in good condition and there is no rust (ditto for the sills).
Some chromes are new but others are in average condition.
It runs perfectly since we did the journey from the department (64) to Caen (14), nearly 700 km in 2 days without overheating or issues.
This is the AK model with the long rear axle of the saloon and the registration is in my name.
The Marly is probably the most beautiful estate from the 1950s and this exemplar is probably the only one fitted with LPG.
The MOT will be carried over to sale.
Its price is €25, 000 with partial swap possible only (with cash adjustment) against scooters from the 50s/ 60s or Simca Aronde Commerciale (semi-tôlée) in BE.
