Description
A worthy successor to the Jaguar E-Type and XJS, the Jaguar XK8 takes over the marque’s two‑door coupes and convertibles from 1996. This time with a V8! Initially in 4. 0‑litre form, then 4. 2‑litre, not forgetting the supercharged version, the XKR.
The Jaguar XK8 / XKR is magnificent, luxurious and aims to be affordable compared with its performance rivals. It has to be said that it shares its platform (and design) with its cousin, the Aston Martin DB7, no less…
It was produced for ten years, until 2006 when it was replaced by the Jaguar XK / XKR, whose design changes quite a lot while remaining a very handsome Jaguar as well.
NYC’s/ OXOTO presents for sale this sublime example in black, with a black leather interior totalling less than 51, 000 miles, i. e. under 82, 000 km. Indeed, this is a US‑spec version we are presenting here. Apart from the odometer and the note in the right‑hand mirror, it looks in no way different from a European‑spec model (same bumpers, indicator repeats, no rear fog light or similar).
Delivered new in 2000, it was recently imported from the USA by a Dutch company experienced in the field. Its Belgian owner bought it on a whim for his collection but ultimately decided to sell it without having it registered.
The bodywork presents well, though it is still in its original paint. Note, however, a few fine stone chips on the front end and various fine scratches across the body, but they are superficial and do not require repainting (polish and buff).
The hood/ soft top is in excellent condition and its opening/ closing is fully operational.
Note that the small cover for the left headlight (for the headlight washers) is missing.
The interior is very nice, aside from the driver's seat which shows wear at the lumbar support; apart from that there is nothing to fault: the other seats, the dashboard, the steering wheel, the carpets, the centre console, the door trims – everything presents really very well.
As for the mechanicals, we have the full vehicle history from Carfax.
It will, of course, be delivered with up-to-date MOT.
We also have a spare key set, a spare wheel and the soft‑top cover which finishes the line very nicely when the roof is down.
A ramp/ hoist is also available on site at our premises to show the underside of the vehicle.
