Description
Lambretta 125 LD 1957
100% original, never restored apart from the fuel tank and the apron mat
Has spent 50 years dry stored in a garage next to a boiler and is in a rare condition for an unrestored scooter – not concours condition, but very clean and honestly in its original patina
It was the neighbour's scooter when he was young, aged about 80 now
I have the original logbook from 1957, I am the second owner. The current V5C is normal and in my name (not a collectibles/ heritage).
It’s equipped with a leg shield pouch and two original seat covers adorned with a leopard-skin trim that’s in the best possible taste, which will grant you smile-worthy moments when you ride it, especially with the helmet and goggles on your head. (sure to turn heads)
The seats are original, so naturally worn and in need of replacement but usable.
All electricals are functional.
The inner tubes are recent and non-porous, tyres are pristine.
It starts at the first kick.
It shakes, it smells of two-stroke oil, the 3-speed gearbox is not as well spaced as the Li’s 4-speed (second gear is interminable), it brakes very poorly and it takes the whole road above 45 km/ h – but it’s torquey and full of charm... pure bliss for connoisseurs.
Visible faults:
- slight bend to the front mudguard and a paint chip
- speedometer functional but quirky – needs servicing
Invisible faults:
No idea :)
I include the open-face helmet and the vintage goggles.
I have the original maintenance and user manual, as well as the complete workshop manual.
Because of its pre-1960 registration, this scooter is not subject to the MOT. It’s insured as normal, and I use it regularly for rides but I lack space – (reason for sale).
I’m based 10 km south of Aire-sur-l’Adour, 40800
