Description
Italian elegance combined with exceptional comfort undoubtedly characterises the Lancia Fulvia Berlina. Designed by Antonio Fessia, it succeeds the Lancia Appia. The Berlina (saloon version) was launched in 1963 and updated in 1969 with Series II. The slightly longer wheelbase and the modified roofline provide more space for passengers. This 1972 Lancia Fulvia Berlina was delivered new in Italy, near Verona. Its first owner even used it as a wedding car (photo available) and then maintained it with the utmost care for many years. The original user’s manual and the partially stamped service booklet are still present. Arrived in the Netherlands in 2024, the car is now registered there.
Fully and professionally restored, it is today in impeccable condition. Its dark blue paintwork, with a deep gloss, pairs perfectly with the cognac leather interior. This Lancia Fulvia is undeniably superb. The bodywork is exceptionally well maintained, and the chrome and trim are immaculate. The rubber seals and finishes are in excellent condition. The body panels align perfectly, and the doors close perfectly. The elegant wheels with their rims are in perfect condition. We are not exaggerating in saying that this Italian classic is almost brand new.
The interior of this magnificent Fulvia Berlina is unmistakably in exceptional condition, and the cognac leather front seats and rear bench are simply superb. In addition, the seats are exceptionally comfortable. The door panels are the same cognac colour, creating a harmonious and elegant look. The dashboard is in superb condition, and all instruments work perfectly. It seems as if the car has just come from the factory. The chrome and interior fittings are in perfect condition. The headlining is also absolutely stunning.
Under the bonnet, there is a very clean, well-maintained engine compartment housing the famous 1, 298 cm³ V4 with twin Solex carburettors. This powerful engine revs with exceptional smoothness and quietness, and at around 87 hp it provides ample power for a remarkably comfortable drive. Braking is firm and precise, and the steering is very light and supple. Gear changes are also very smooth and precise. This Lancia Fulvia Berlina is, in fact, an incredibly pleasant car to drive, and its elegant Italian design makes it a very attractive classic car. Especially in this sublime and immaculate condition!
