Historical elements
During restoration and stripping of the various paint layers, several historical elements were uncovered.
The Jeep appears to have been stationed in Belgium within an Australian unit, before later being used by the French Air Force, then by the Gendarmerie.
A repair plate from the French Air Force dated 3 January 1955 is still present on the vehicle.
The Jeep also retains the original reinforcements and drillings intended for the machine gun mount installed behind the seats, with the reinforcement plate under the floor.
During the paint stripping, a small yellow kangaroo painted on the fuel tank was also discovered. This marking has sadly disappeared during restoration work, but it could correspond to an old unit marking, consistent with the hypothesis of presence in an Australian unit.
Vehicle viewable in Normandy.
International buyers welcome.
