Here you have a rare opportunity to acquire a piece of French motorcycle history. According to the Club du Motocyclettiste, the production of the SMAC La Panthère B2 did not exceed a few hundred units, and very few of them remain registered and on the road today. This 250 cm3 machine, with its two-speed manual transmission and its combination of chain and belt, is a fascinating example of early 1920s engineering.
This motorcycle in particular, frame no. 263, benefits from convincing provenance: its first owner was the grandfather of a friend. It retains its original registration plate and presents matching serial numbers – an important element for collectors. Finished in black and green, the bike shows original patina and a few signs of rust, offering a base for restoration or preservation.
Exempt from the roadworthiness test, this La Panthère B2 would require re-commissioning and adjustment to return to working order, but represents a rare opportunity to own and restore a piece of French motorcycling heritage.
Stored indoors for preservation.
The paint shows age-related wear with original patina and some signs of rust.
The motorcycle needs reconditioning but provides a solid base for restoration.
