At Ohana, we don't simply sell cars. We share stories, sensations, and sometimes even a touch of nostalgia.
The fascinating history of this model:
When the Mercedes-Benz SL R230 was unveiled in the early 2000s, it succeeded the iconic R129, a model that had become the absolute benchmark amongst luxury roadsters. With this new generation, Mercedes evolved the SL concept towards even greater technology, comfort and versatility.
One of its major innovations is its retractable hardtop, which transforms the car into a genuine coupé in seconds. A technical marvel for its time, allowing you to enjoy a pleasant car in all seasons – as comfortable when closed as it is elegant when open.
The R230 also distinguished itself through the arrival of highly advanced technologies for its era, notably the celebrated ABC suspension – Active Body Control, an active system designed to limit body roll and deliver a remarkable compromise between ride comfort and handling.
In this SL 550 version, the model strikes a particularly appealing balance: the refinement of a grand Mercedes cabriolet, combined with the nobility of a naturally-aspirated 5. 5L V8 – smooth, powerful and perfectly suited to the grand touring spirit.
Even today, the SL R230 remains a benchmark for high-end roadster enthusiasts, appreciated for its timeless styling, technology and ability to be enjoyed equally for pleasure or serious distance driving.
